What is the 90-day diet?
The nutrition program was developed in Slovenia in 2004 by Mojca Poljansek and Breda Hrobat with the professional support of Dr. Stefan Celan. The aim of the developers was to establish a concept with the 90-day diet that helps with a healthy and effective dietary change. Brought to the man, for example, the 90-day diet is called a book.
The concept of the 90-day diet
There are seven main principles to which you must stick to the 90-day diet:
- Consumption of various balanced meals
- No starvation or fornot of meals
- Note set dietary order
- Keeping time intervals, proper distribution of meals
- Combining the dishes properly
- Drink adequate amount of liquid
- Regular physical activity
How the 90-day diet works
In the 90-day diet, the removable people orient themselves on a precisely defined order of diet days. Of these, there are four that are constantly repeating themselves in the 90 days. Start with a protein day (meat, fish, eggs) followed by two carbohydrate days, which turn into a starch day (carbohydrate-heavy foods with starch, e.g. corn, potatoes) and a carbohydrate day (processed or ground cereals) Divide.
The fourth day is vitamin day (fruit, vegetables, raw food). After that, we start again with the protein day.
On the 29th day of each month, only water is drunk to cleanse the body.
According to diet guidelines, such a combination of foods in a meal allows the consumed nutrients to absorb better, the body needs less energy for digestion, the metabolism improves and there is no longer a feeling of fullness.
Benefits of the 90-day diet
With the 90-day diet, you can lose weight, according to the inventor five to 20 kilograms within three months. Healthy foods are recommended, deficiencies are not expected due to food composition.
A feeling for healthy, balanced food composition is developed.
The involvement or explicit invitation to physical activity is also positive.
Risks of the 90-day diet
In itself, there are no (health) risks. The diet plan is balanced. Adherence to this concept, however, requires a high degree of discipline, since you cannot eat what you fancy, but can only consume what the plan prescribes.

Whether the respective nutritional focus is really necessary for the dietary success is questionable. However, the concept itself is largely in line with the nutrition/acceptance recommendations of the German Nutrition Society (DGE).
