What is the Brigitte diet?
The women’s magazine of the same name developed the Brigitte diet in the late 1960s. It has since undergone a regular overhaul. There are recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, which make up an individual daily schedule. The ingredients have a low energy density, that is, little calories per gram. In this way, you can consume larger amounts, which should avoid hot hunger attacks.
On average, daily calorie intake is 1,200 kcal for women, for men it is 300 more. The fat content should not exceed 40 grams per day.
Between breakfast, lunch and dinner, a break of four hours each is guised, as well as ten hours from the last to the first meal of the following day. Nutrient composition of the Brigitte diet
The Brigitte diet relies on low-fat, balanced mixed foods. Sufficient protein is planned in the form of fish, meat, dairy products and legumes. Because when eating wholemeal bread, or – noodles, it takes longer for blood glucose levels to rise than, say, white flour products or sweets.

The Brigitte diet is based on current scientific evidence and the recommendations of the German Society for Nutrition (DGE). The latter, as well as the German Obesity Society, the Diabetes Society and the Society for Nutritional Medicine, regard such a moderately energy-reduced mixed diet as “the most successful, side-effect-free standard of care.” In long-term studies, test subjects lost an average of around five kilos per year.

No. The mixed food principle of the Brigitte diet is varied and comes very close to “normal” food. Since you lose weight quite slowly (about 500 grams per week), however, you need some stamina.
